My 2-year-old daughter loves to be tickled, but the way she tells my wife she wants to be tickled is by walking up to us and saying, “Don’t tickle me.” If I tickle her she laughs and then says, “Again.” If I don’t tickle her she gets upset and repeats even louder, “Don’t tickle me!”

The reason I think most people don’t like to be ticked, myself included with this mind you, is do to it being an involuntary response.

Kids, much like other people that are magically imbued sense of freedom to allow somebody to have control of them, given these ticklish are usually in those sensitive spots.

I even know of a girl who laughed when her boyfriend wiggled his finger in a tickling way from across the room. I figure this could have been she was conditioned to much tickling. But go figure, they were strange like that. Strange and happy.
